Radio Schedule – Spring 2018

Let’s start with the following important announcement: Beautiful Freaks Radio will now be broadcast every Sunday at 8pm, rather than the usual Wednesday. Apart from that, we’ve stayed the same, with another schedule of great music for you. We’ll have at least two guest interviews this term, as well as the Monthly Music Round-Up, with which we’ll in fact start the season. Check out the full schedule below!

Week 1 (29 April): April Music Round-Up

In this ‘newfeature, we give an overview of all the best music released in the past few months. The show will be full of new tracks, including songs taken from recently released albums and singles for upcoming releases. For our April Round-Up, expect discussions of Hop Along, Speedy Ortiz and more!

Week 2 (6 May): No Radio Show

We’ll be at this amazing gig instead! We in fact put on the support act Blue House in Oxford a year ago, so it will be nice to see them back. Hope to see you there!

Week 3 (13 May): TBA

We like surprises! Check back soon for more info.

Week 4 (20 May): Interview with Jeff

We’ve recently seen Charlie Jeffries, aka Jeff, play her Girlpool-esque close-to-home songs at The Library Pub and we’ve come to like them. In Week 4, Charlie will join us for a conversation about her music! Check out Jeff’s bandcamp page to hear some of her songs.

Week 5 (27 May): May Music Round-Up

Same as the April Music Round-Up, but with music released in May. Some of the albums and EPs we’re already looking forward to are new ones by Belly, Boys and Skating Polly.

Week 6 (3 June): Beautiful Summer 2018

Every summer we make an ace summer playlist for you to enjoy. The first rays of sun have already shined so a Beautiful Summer 2018 is urgently required. In this episode we’ll present this year’s authoritative guide to the summer, featuring sunny tracks old and new. And if that’s not enough, do check out the past six installments of this recurring feature!

Week 7 (10 June): TBA

Another surprise!

Week 8 (6 March): Interview with Catgod

Catgod is an Oxford-based band centred around brother-sister duo Robin and Cat. Their sound is eclectic, drawing influences from folk, soul and trip-hop. They have recently released the gripping ‘Heartbeat In My Hand’, and we’ll talk with them on our radio show ahead of their free headline show at The Cellar.
